Bernard H. Berins has more than 40 years of experience and is widely respected for his expertise in real estate and various securities interests. He presently serves on the Real Estate Law Committee for the New Orleans Bar Association. Mr. Berins is also well known for his practice in various business entities, business bankruptcy and related matters. He has successfully confirmed many allegedly “non-confirmable” Chapter 11 Plans of Reorganization. In addition, Mr. Berins has handled large commercial transactions including leases, acquisitions, mergers and bond issues. He has lectured on such topics as Family Limited Partnerships, Successful Judgment Collections in Louisiana and Advanced Real Estate Law in Louisiana. Mr. Berins, a native of New Orleans, has volunteered his legal expertise to many charitable institutions in the New Orleans area.


Mr. Berins graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1959 from Tulane University and received hisJ.D. from Tulane University in 1962. He is also a member of Phi Delta Phi. Mr. Berins is admitted to practice before all Louisiana state courts, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
